Today I’m sharing a budget-friendly day trip from southern Sweden: taking the ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingør, visiting Kronborg Castle, and then heading to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Ferry from Helsingborg to Helsingør

I took the train from Malmö to Helsingborg and then boarded the ferry to Helsingør.
It’s a quick and convenient route with frequent departures, perfect for a simple day trip.



The ferry ride is short (20 mins), and you can grab a snack or a drink on board.
You can enjoy tax-free shopping on board, too!

Once you arrive, the small harbor town atmosphere immediately feels calm and pleasant, great for a short walk.

Helsingør: Visiting Kronborg Castle (the ‘Hamlet Castle’)

As soon as you reach Helsingør, you’ll see Kronborg Castle, famously known as the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Train to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art

From Helsingør, I took the train to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
It’s one of Denmark’s most beloved museums, beautifully located by the sea.

The architecture blends with the surrounding landscape, creating a peaceful, inspiring experience.

Christmas lunch in Sweden (Julbord)

Hi, I am Yulie. Today, I will write about Julbord in Sweden. Julbord, literally meaning Christmas table , is Sweden’s version of the holiday feast. Typically, Herring dishes – pickled in mustard, onion, or dill. Salmon and cold fish – gravlax, smoked salmon, and roe. Cold meats – Christmas ham ( julskinka ), pâtés, and sausages. Warm classics – meatballs ( köttbullar ), small sausages ( prinskorv ), and Janssons frestelse (a creamy potato-and-anchovy casserole). Game and roasts – ribs, roasted meats, or lutfisk (dried cod). Cheese and accompaniments – crispbread, butter, and salads.
