My 5-Minute Visualization Routine: How I Use a Vision Board for Clarity
Hello, I'm Yulie.
Today, I want to share a small routine I’ve been practicing recently: the habit of writing down what I want in a notebook.
Why I Started Writing Down My Desires
I started this routine after friends told me about the book "The Secret." https://www.thesecret.tv/
Although I haven't finished the book yet, the author posits that our lives move in the direction we think and imagine.
The core idea is: clearly visualize what you want, look at it often, and feel as if it has already been achieved.
So, every morning, for just 5 minutes, I write sentences about what I want, attach images, or simply visualize silently. Because it’s so low-effort, it doesn't feel burdensome and has become a sustainable habit.
How I Practice the Routine
My practice involves writing down simple concepts, such as:
The desired mood for my day.
The small goals I want to achieve.
The future version of myself I wish to become.
One thing I am grateful for.
I often remind myself that before writing what I want, it's important to first feel content and thankful for my current self.
When I record these notes, I try to write not with the feeling of "I hope this happens someday," but as if "I am already living as that person." This concept is close to what the book calls Visualization, or what some call a Vision Board—collecting images of the desired life and looking at them frequently.
They say that the brain actually starts accepting this as a 'near-future reality.'
For me, this routine is not about rapidly changing my life, but about helping me remember the direction I am facing.
It makes my day a bit clearer, simplifies the tasks I need to do, and gives me a sense of stability when my mind feels rushed.
I plan to continue this consistently.
