3 Small Habits I Use to Reduce Spending

Hello everyone, I'm Yulie!

Today, I want to share 3 small habits for reducing spending that I actually practice and have seen great results from. They are tiny steps, but consistent, incremental progress (my "bit-by-bit" method) can make a huge difference in your savings over time!

1️⃣ Cut Down on Eating Out (Using Home Prep or Too Good To Go)

Reducing outside dining is my biggest win. I save money by either cooking simple meals at home or strategically using the Too Good To Go app. https://www.toogoodtogo.com/en-us

It’s a great two-in-one method: I save money and reduce food waste, also nice when I don't want to cook.

2️⃣ Automate My Savings Flow (The Hands-Off, Set-It-and-Forget-It System)

I believe in systems that work without my daily intervention. I've automated a process that moves a small amount of money (e.g., $1/day or 10 SEK/day) from my checking account to a dedicated "Savings Goal" account.

The major benefit is that this fund accumulates without me having to manually monitor it. I keep the specific account details and totals private, but the system of automated, small transfers is a powerful habit that works!

3️⃣ Embrace Resale: Buying and Selling Used Items

This is an environmentally friendly habit that also boosts my savings. I sell items I no longer need and look to purchase necessary items second-hand. In Europe, apps like Vinted are perfect for this. It’s a smart habit that protects both the environment and my wallet. https://www.vinted.se/

These are just small changes, but looking at my finances month-over-month, the difference is substantial. I encourage you to try starting your own "bit-by-bit" budgeting journey today. Small habits truly do make a big difference!
